The truth when it comes to losing body fat:

It’s time you heard the truth about losing weight and getting fit. Two out of three Americans are overweight or obese. This has happened while over 40 billion dollars has been spent annually on diet and weight loss products.

I’m talking about things like weight loss pills and diet plans.

I think this proves that nothing you can buy will help you lose weight. Losing weight only works one way. You have to create a calorie deficit. The bigger the calorie deficit you create, the faster the weight will come off.

It really is that simple. Your goal should be natural weight loss.

If it’s so simple, then why do so many people fail? Because they try things that don’t create a deficit. Pills, herbs, teas, patches, body wraps, etc. are scams that will never work. They are sold by professional marketers that know how to exploit the emotions of the weak for money.

Other products actually could work, but do not work permanently for most people. In other words, they do help create a calorie deficit, but unless that person is willing to stay on that diet of or frozen meal plan for the rest of their life, their weight will come right back on once they stop using whatever “tool” they were using to create that calorie deficit.

Research has shown the only way to lose weight and keep it off is to make a permanent lifestyle change. Meaning, you see that habits that are making you fat, and to change them to new habits to make you skinny.

I have created 2 blogs for people to read and share ideas about weight loss. There are no ads on these blogs. Please do not come to the blogs and write about products. Just share how weight loss is working for you.

Weight Loss Surgery Weight Loss Options

Are you looking to lose weight? If you are, you likely already know that you’ve got a range of different options. For instance, you can go about losing weight naturally, with the use of exercise and eating healthily. You can also shed the pounds with the help of weight loss products, like diet pills. Another option that you have is weight loss surgery.

If you are interested in undergoing weight loss surgery, you aren’t alone. As formerly discussed, weight loss surgery is accelerating in recognition. While there are a range of different weight loss surgical procedures that you can endure, you can find that there are 2 main procedures. These procedures, which include gastric bypass surgery and lap-band surgery, are outlined below.

That is why this process is also usually called stomach stapling. When undergoing gastric bypass surgery, your surgeon will portion off some of your gut, making a smaller pouch. Your intestine will then be rerouted, making it so that your food consumption only impacts a portion of your belly.

Most doctors need their patients to be around 80 pounds or more overweight.

When undergoing lap-band surgery, your stomach pouch is formed smaller. One of the few differences is that your gut is not stapled, but an adjustable band is employed. That is one of the reasons why lap-band surgery is so favored, as the band used can be totally removed or simply adjusted.

Lap-band surgery and gastric bypass surgery are not the only weight loss surgeries open to you, but they are 2 of the most popular. Thousands of US people have undergone these 2 weight loss surgeries. For many people, weight loss surgery is a final resort. Many who undergo weight loss surgery have not had success with losing pounds another way.

One of the various reasons why it is important to communicate with your doctor or another healthcare professional is because weight loss surgery isn’t right for everyone. As well as being at the “right,” weight, you also need to have the willpower to reduce your food intake. If you eat too much food, namely too much food for your stomach to hold, you can not only harm your weight loss progress, but you may also put your wellbeing at risk. That is why your weight loss surgery call isn’t one that you can make alone ; it is one that has got to be made in association with a healthcare professional.

Effective Immediately!

From this point on I will only be blogging about my business! If you want personal information about me, email me! Mama’s got to make some money! With that said, here’s one of my eblasts regarding my amazing, magic diet lollipops:

Attitude, Belief, Desire

By Sara Abrams

I was going to write about a Power Pops distributor who lost 70 lbs. in 7 months but, that’s old news. We know the Power Pops are magic. We know they work. But how do I work? What motivates me? What keeps me going?

I had posted the following on Facebook:

Do you have affirmations that you say to yourself? I have been reading Louise Hay and trying some on a daily basis. I think it’s a very subtle shift that takes place when I do it. For example, instead of berating myself, I try to love myself and always look at the positive instead of the negative. I bolster my self-esteem and confidence before I market my products (ie, cold calls…). It helps. What do you do?

I loved this response I received from Sean:

“Affirmations are great, but a whole lot more powerful if you can tie them to emotions – you then start manifesting things really quickly! Think of thoughts as the rudder on a boat – they point you in a specific direction…. Emotions are the driving force that get you moving in that direction. So essentially whatever affirmation you are thinking of needs to be felt with every fiber of your being. It may be difficult at first, but with practice your entire body will come alive with a single thought. The emotion is what materializes things.”

I hope that helps you too with your sales, or your business, or your relationships. “Feel it with every fiber of your being.” That is how we manifest success!

To your health & wealth!

The Last 10lbs. of Baby Weight Loss

My baby is about to turn a year old by the end of the month and I am still struggling to lose the last 10lbs. of my baby weight loss. It’s the hardest 10lbs. that I’ve been trying to get rid of. I can’t seem to burn it off like I use to. Having a baby has taught me that I never come first anymore. My whole existence and life revolves around this little person that solely relies on me for her well-being. I am happy to admit that I love being a mom but being a single mom is especially difficult because there is no one to change shifts when I need a break. This is certainly more challenging on time management. It’s taking me longer to take the weight off because I simply have less time to dedicate to myself and my workouts. Even though I am very conscientious about what I eat, I fall victim to not eating enough times in the day and not drinking enough water to flush out the toxins and keep me hydrated enough. I know all the the key points on how to lose the weight but I have been severely challenged with time management. Many times, I wished there were more hours in the day so that I can get more done. In short, I find myself frustrated with the lack of time to do things for myself. Part of the learning process is to find ways to carve out that one hour in the day to exercise and then to discipline myself to eat and drink properly. That’s simply the key to losing weight.

Good news today – I got my one hour workout in. I drank lots of water and ate healthy foods. tomorrow is another day and I take it one day at a time and one pound at a time. In my mind, I see myself slimmer, more athletic, healthy, vibrant and happy. That’s my affirmation of where I want to be and it’s what guides me.

3 Extraordinary Dieting Tips Uncovered

Nothing makes you feel better than stepping on that scale and finding out that you lost another 2 pounds. It is a great feeling knowing that your hard work and dedication has paid off; however, what if you are one of those select few people who just can’t seem to shed any extra weight. You eat a healthy diet and you still can’t shake off that stubborn belly fat. In this article I will reveal 3 of the best dieting tips.

  1. Diet and exercise. First of all, you have to make sure that your approach to weight loss includes both diet and exercise.  A lot of people incorporate only one of these factors into their daily routine. However, that will not provide weight loss results. In order to lose weight and keep it off you need to eat a healthy nutrition and exercise regularly.
  2. Mini meals. Many people starve themselves in an attempt to eat fewer calories during the day.  That is a big no-no. First of all, eat breakfast! Weight loss professionals recommend consuming mini meals every 3 hours. Never allowing your body to reach hunger is the key to success. Of course you have to eat smart and limit your portion size.
  3. Fiber and protein. Adding fiber and protein to each one of your mini meals is very important. Both of these nutrients take a while to be broken down by our metabolism, therefore lowering our chances of hunger and of mindless snacking.

Following these three steps will definitely help you lose weight. Healthy nutrition, routine physical activity, natural diet pills, and whey protein shakes can all help you attain your dream weight. So don’t be afraid to make a few changes in your life and watch the pounds melt away.

Music=Motivation

Here’s a quickie post of the day; recently I was asked what motivates me, what effects my workouts…today it was the music. I have days where working out is the last thing I want to do, and today was that kind of a day. Here I was…at the top of Santa Monica stairs… staring at them, in a state of total demotivation and then it happened – I’m man enough to admit it – Justin Timberlake hit my iPod and I was ready to go. Just as my workouts change constantly so does my music play list.  What’s on your iPod?  I would love to hear what you have on your play list, let’s start sharing our favorite workout songs and motivate each other.

Here’s my playlist from today, I could use some new songs so send me yours.

Start your workout with a bang...KAOS way!

Again, I would like to thank Lana for her amazing post.  Today I am going to expand a little on the whole the mental state and the exercise…it’s all about starting your workout with a bang!  It intensifies the rest of it.  When I start a workout, either mine or with a client, I make sure my clients are focused from the very beginning. I never start with machines or seldom even use them. The way you start your workout will usually dictate the way the rest of  it will go. Free weights stimulate the stabilizers, all those little muscles surrounding the majors and are more functional in your daily routines. By adding kettle bells, dumbbells, body weight and medicine ball exercises to your routine, you will not only like the shape that it gives your body but also the ability to perform daily tasks.  Machines isolate a single body part and don’t allow you to fully reach your peak performance, they lock you in and your stabilizers do not get engaged.  When you sit at a machine and do not get your body moving, you stay “cold” and do not stimulate the mind or the body fast enough, thus not really getting a great workout.

Start with a compound movement or some plyos – your mind will get involved and the body will warm up faster. I remember as a young marine my drill instructor saying: “It’s just the mind slowing you down.”  So when you initially go into the gym, start with a movement that gets your MIND and your body going and you will have a more intense and enjoyable workout.

A little sample:

Make your first circuit your most intense

Warm up with a little ballistic stretching

Start with some plyos such as box jumps or Russian lunges, then to kettle bell snatch and grabs, into single arm dumbbell chest presses, and dumbbell clean and presses. Enough writing, let me show you a kaos workout. It is very raw so bear with me.

Avoid Travel Drag—Keep Working Out

We tend to put on the pounds when we travel because we use it as an excuse to parachute out of our diet and fitness plans and take a vacation from the routine.

Some people turn business trips into a special event that allows them to justify breaking sound nutrition rules. However, all it takes is a bit of planning and some self-discipline to avoid falling into the trap of overeating on trips.

Try these tips the next time you head to the airport:

Pack your own peanuts. Better yet, make them raw almonds. Rich in protein and fiber, they’ll fill you up, so you won’t be tempted by the calorie-dense airline meals and snacks.

Down a bottle of water on the way. Drink one bottle of water while driving to the airport, then sip on another after you get through security. Then have a cup of water about once every hour that you are in the air. Often hunger pangs are nothing more than thirst in disguise.

Pick the apples. Many hotels have a basket of apples in their lobbies that guests can pick from. Grab 2 on check in. You’ll be less likely to order room service if you have something crunchy on hand in your room to quell hunger.

Check out the roof. Throw on a pair of shorts and sneakers and run the stairs. Walk to the bottom of the stairs to warm up. Now run up one flight of stairs, turn around and walk back down. Next, run two flights, walk back down, then three and so on, running and resting, until you can’t go anymore.

Simple as it seems, you will not return home heavier than you left.

Why I Drink Kombucha and You Should Too...

GT's Kombucha contains valuable nutrients.

So, lately I’ve been seriously addicted to drinking Kombucha because it makes me feel really, really good! I swear the other day I looked at myself and I was actually glowing like I never had before (not in a freaky radioactive way, but in a healthy, vibrant way). Plus, when I drink Kombucha I feel more energized to complete my work during the day.

Turns out that there’s good reason for my newfound “glow.” Kombucha contains beneficial probiotics that help the digestive and immune systems (take that swine flu!), contains live active enzymes that help recharge the body’s cells, and contains polyphenols that help fight free radicals. So where do you get this magical drink? My favorite is GT’s Kombucha that can be purchased at health food stores around town including Vitamin Cottage and Whole Foods.

Here are some more interesting facts about Kombucha from the GT’s Kombucha (Millennium Foods) Web site:

  • Kombucha has been a health-promoting and life-enhancing wonder food since as early as the Tsin Chinese Dynasty of 221 BC. Its popularity has been documented throughout history in all corners of the world, from Russia to India, Germany to Japan.
  • In his autobiography, Nobel Prize winner Alexandr Solzhenitsyn wrote that drinking Kombucha helped him survive the Siberian slave camps of the former Soviet Union.
  • Kombucha may be known by many different names in other parts of the world, including Manchurian Tea, Manchu Fungus, Tea Kvass, Mo-Gu Fungus japonicus, Kwassan, and many others.
  • A report on NBC’s Dateline stated that over three million people regularly drink Kombucha.

How women can stay skinny & healthy

In a recent article published in May 2009 issue of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Women who breastfed over 12 months consecutively were significantly less likely to be obese or to have hypertension. This was a big study too! almost 140,000 women. Now with all the known benefits to breastfeeding… Why don’t we sink some $$ into supporting women to be able to nurse their children for at least a year. Can you imagine the amount of sweeping positive social change we would have. Healthier kids, healthier moms…. Oh and it would save a ton of cash not having sick kids and hypertensive obese mothers. This would absolutely change the US health profile in a generation. The ad campaign would be PSA’s promoting the economics of breastfeeding and we could call it the weight loss solution of the new decade. Where’s my trumpet? We need a call to arms for all mothers!!

The Winning Loser

fdadf

The Australian ‘Biggest Loser’ final took place the other night, and what can I say but ‘WOW’. What an inspiration these people should be to every person sitting on their sofa-loving backsides in front of the TV.

Whilst most reality shows are all about that 15 minutes of fame, this show actually sets out to achieve a really worthwhile end goal. And that’s not just for the person who wins and pockets the much deserved prize money (well as much deserved as it is possible to be when you have won and not earned it). All the contestants who take part, come out of it better off for having been there.

For while there is money at stake, and a lot of it, for once the show isn’t all about what you get at the end, but what you learn and achieve along the way. There are no record deals or big shiny cars on offer here.  The contestants aren’t expected to battle it out on a deserted island, or pick out a new mate to marry. They don’t have to decorate a room, design an outfit or beat a poly-gram test to do well. The show doesn’t dangle a ‘jump on the celebrity bandwagon’ carrot in front of their nose, or even teach them how to peel one.

No, the ‘Biggest Loser’ gives contestants a little bit more. It allows them to take one big fat foot out of the grave and start looking forward to living a longer, healthier life. A life that they can actually start to participate in, not just observe from the side lines.

Turning someones life around like this is no mean feat. For 3 long months the contestants are made to eat, sleep, think and exercise  ‘healthy’. Life long bad habits are stripped away and their approach to their food intake, mental attitude and body image are rebuilt, from the plate upwards. At the end of every week they face a public weigh-in, and those who drop below the ‘yellow line’ are voted off the show.

fdadf

fdadf

By the end of the 3 months, the proof was very much in the low-fat pudding and the results achieved were nothing short of jaw dropping. Bob Herdsman, the oldest contestant and the winner, lost more than half of his original 167.8kg (26.4 stone) weight. He dropped a massive 87.6 kg (13.8 stone) along the way and now tips the scales at just 80.2kg (12.6 stone). Tiffany, his daughter-in-law, came in at second place with a weight loss of 54.1kg (8.5 stone).

Without a surgeons knife or gastric band in sight, their weight loss was achieved purely through good diet, hard work and a dogged perseverance to be there at the finish line.

fda

fdadf

At a time when the whole world seems to be doubling it’s waist size every time the World Health Organisation release new statistics, this TV programme is certainly trying to do it’s bit to help get the message through.

Something certainly needs to be done before the entire human race slips below the ‘yellow line’ and ends up getting eliminated from the race.

Predictable

As I expected, the loss of the kilo was an anomaly. Half of the kilo came back. Oh well. I’m still down half a kilo, so I’m ahead of the game. I guess it was predictable.

A couple of days ago was Israeli Independence Day. This year we had brunch with my mother and went to my in-laws for a bar-b-que in the afternoon. I made waffles for the brunch. My waffle maker makes really thin waffles so they are more like pancakes. I had three. That’s not too bad. For the bar-b-que, I shared a stake and my husband and had a couple of hot dogs. I think that’s pretty good.

My friend and I decided to take off Independence Day from our walking schedule. There are so few days that we get to sleep late that we couldn’t help ourselves. We just skipped the day, and went back to walking the next.

Today is my last day of school. I really should be finishing up my paper instead of blogging, but as long as I’m here, I’ll say my last word. Since I’m about to finish something, I might be ready to start something new. I have a Wii upstairs in my house calling me. Next week I’m going to get more serious about exercising. Walking is good, but it’s not enough. Back to my paper…
