I has been a while since I had a good sweat. Made up for it today. I arrived late (was in an impromptu meeting with a VP). Once I was there, they were already practicing overhead squats. I haven’t done those before. Neat exercise though. I started out just making sure I did the technique right. At first I did not have the tightening of the stomach muscles correct. Once I changed that, it made a major difference. I started out with just the bar, but continued to work up. Eventually I made it to 105#. I know I was at my limit because I tried to do 2 rounds and I started to lose control on the second and I had to toss the bar. It was a good bench mark. My knee didn’t give me any trouble which is very good.
The second part of the WOD was some sort of modified burpee, where you start by rolling on your back, jump and clap, then a regular burpee. I forgot what it was called, but we needed to do 40 of those. I think the trainer was a little generous in his counting (30, 32, 33, 36…) however to be fair, I lost count a couple of times too so it wouldn’t surprise me if I did too many anyway. After that I still wanted to do a little more. So a pulled up a corne where I would be out of the way and did 10 push ups and 20 sit ups. I did 3 rounds of those. I know I was pushing myself on the push ups because my arms were absolutely burning when I was finishing the last couple of push ups. ouch ouch Ouch!
Dinner consisted of 12 grapes and a glass of diet soda. YEE HAW – IF THAT AIN’T THE FOOD OF CHAMPIONS, I DON’T KWOW WHAT IS! However I had sushi at lunch and honestly, I am still full. I know I shouldn’t over eat, so what really are my options? Stuff myself just so I can get a balance? or not eat and let it burn off? I am opting for the latter for right now.
Until next time,
Never, ever give up!
